How to participate in an auction on Plebeian Market
To take part in an auction, you must have verified you Plebeian Market Nostr account with 2 other social ID's (X, Telegram or Github) and on some auctions, the seller may wish for you to have bought the Skin in The Game badge (see below).
You can be required to buy the badge while you're bidding on your first auction, or you may want to buy the badge in advance here.
Some may see this as a “KYC” for auctions but there is a reasoning for this, as it is more of an anti-trolling tool to prevent, to the best of Plebeian Market’s ability, from spammers bidding up auctions. Badges only need to be purchased once and the user can bid on any number of auctions, forever Laura, FOREVER.
How to verify other social accounts - Under settings go to “Get Verified” and enter in your profile link to X, Telegram or GitHub to get verified.
Plebeian Market Skin in the Game badge
The Skin in the Game badge is only needed for auctions. It is our anti-troll tactic to prevent trolls from bidding on auctions for fun without ever intending on paying.
Badges do not give you immunity, if a cheat/spammer buys a badge just to carry on cheating, they will be banned.
For auctions that go above a certain amount of money we ask participants to buy the badge to show they are serious.
A seller can also select the Skin in the Game badge requirement when they are setting up an auction.
Badges only need to be purchased once and the user can bid on any number of auctions forever.
